What software do you use?
My preferred editing tool is Microsoft Word (using Tracked Changes). However, I can also edit text on Google Docs, Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, and Acrobat Adobe (PDF Comment).
What are the typical turnaround times?
Turnaround times depend on several factors, including document length, the level of editing required, and the document's language clarity, and a more accurate estimate will be provided with your quote.
However, typical turnaround times will be the following:
PROOFREADING
Up to 3,000 words: 1 day
3,000–8,000 words: 2–3 days
8,000–15,000 words: 3–5 days
Over 15,000: tailored estimate
COPYEDITING
up to 3,000 words: 1–2 days
3,000–8,000 words: 2–4 days
8,000–15,000 words: 3–5 days

SUBSTANTIVE EDITING

What is the typical price range?
Rates vary depending on editing level, document complexity, and additional services requested. A customised quote will always be provided, but typical rates fall within the following ranges:

Do you work with non-native English speakers?
Absolutely. This is actually my area of specialisation.
I have years of experience editing for multilingual and multicultural academic authors, both through professional editing companies and through supporting friends and colleagues in academic settings. As an Italian speaker who studied and worked in English-speaking academia, I understand first-hand how challenging academic English can be—and how easily cultural differences in writing styles can affect a student’s grade or the outcome of a journal submission. Do you edit according to specific style guides?
Yes, I regularly work with APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, AMA, and many journal- or institution-specific styles. As such, I am also flexible and happy to adopt new styles.
Can you provide a sample edit?
Yes. As part of my service, I edit the first two pages for free to show my editing work and see whether my editing level is what you want.
